Three very large embroideries were returned of the 7 artworks I sent to Delhi for an exhibition in 2009.
Unsurprisingly, they were looking a little tired having been removed from their stretchers. This one I love but it needed a face lift. It is mainly embroidery, ink and leather on canvas.
You can see the Indian experience on the right here.
The reverse ... after some thought .... ready for a re-stretch ... brand new stretcher.....
Stretching Pliers and a bit of muscle...
Stretched and grubby.... but tight as a drum...
Brave strokes .... no time for wimps....
Silver boots ... still going folks!
Fast work ... large and small brushes..... loud music..
Blending and washing .....
Dripping and flicking...
Time for a cup of tea...
Almost end result ...... watch this space....
To be shown in two weeks at
22nd, 23rd, 24th July, Jamaica Street, Stokes Croft, Bristol.
Hope to see you! I will be on the third floor.
